                                                    Ch.18 The Priestess Returns

   Sayuri broke the kiss breathing heavely. She catched her breath and looked out the window and saw that it was still dark outside. Sayuri remembered the spell her mother cast on her. "Miroku, have you heard of the U-Ikkaridi?", she asked looking at his purple-black eyes. Miroku gasped in surprise. He tried to hide his amazement but, Sayuri knew him very well. "So you do know about them...", Sayuri stated.

   As if he had taken Sayuri's statement as a question he nodded slightly. "Bara no tsumi, they are witches...", he said as if he was carring a heavy burden on his shoulders.

   Sayuri gasped in fear and horror knowing that her mother might be a witch. "I cannot believe my mom is a witch...", she thought out loud.

   "Sayuri, what the hell are you talking about?", Inuyasha asked braking her wondering mind.

   "While i was unconscious i had a dream... But now i'm certain that it was more a memory...", Sayuri began saying. "When i was about seven years old, my home was attacked by demons and i wanted to protect my mother and my childhood friend Tsuki, but at the time i didn't remembered anything that happened... When i woke up i was in my chamber... And my mother was bby my side along with my father. I asked them what had happen and they informed me that Tsuki had died but they blamed it on the demons...", her words broke off as she remembered the horrific scene.

   "What did really happened to Tsuki?", Kira asked in a soothing voice.

   "I killed her.", Sayuri said in a cold voice that didn't sound like her own. Everyone in the little hut gasped in horror. Sayuri lowered her gaze in guilt. "I know... I'm a murderer..."

   "Oh my god! Sayuri don't say that! Before blaming yourself tell us what happen that day?", Kira said sitting closer to Sayuri.

   "Well i transformed, and apparently i was the one who killed all the demons and not my father. In fact my father wasn't even around to save us. And then Tsuki tried to protect my mother from me and i lost all control and attacked her. My mother cast a spell on me to seal away my powers. Then my father arrived and he then too found out the real powers of my mother.", Sayuri explain trying to find any sense of her words.

   "Hmm, I think your mother feared she would be rejected by your father if she said who she really was.", Miroku suggested.

   "Miroku might be right.", Inuyasha agreed.

   "There is only one way to find out.", Kira said.

   "I have to go back home, i have to go to Fukuoka.", Sayuri concluded.

   "I'm going with you.", Miroku stated.

   "We're going too, right Inuyashi?", Kira said looking at Inuaysha with a grin on her delicate fearures. Inuyasha nodded and took a sit closer to Kira putting an arm around her.

    Sayuri blinked hard to keep tears from dropping down her cheeks. "Thank you...", she said almost in a whisper.

    Miroku smiled and bent to kiss Sayuri sweetly on the lips. "No need to thank us, we are in this together." ,Miroku said when he broke the kiss.

   "We should get some rest.", Kira suggested.

   "That sounds great! I'm really tired", Inuyasha said yawning. "We'll better go, Kei. We'll plan the trip tomorrow."

   "Yeah, that sounds like a great idea", Sayuri agreed. "Good night, and thank you again!"

   "Good night. And don't worry we'll find an explanation for all this", Inuyasha said while exiting the small hut with Kira close behind him.

   "We shall sleep as well watashi no ai.", Sayuri said scooting over so Miroku could lay beside her. Miroku grinned happily and took his place by Sayuri's side. He kissed her pasionately and said "You know how happy i am to be in you arms again?"

    Sayuri smiled. "I do, and i think you know how happy you make me.", She kissed him in a posessive way, but sweet at the same time. Their passion carried on, their kissed became more passionate and sweet. They made love until the sun rised.  They breathed heavily while they rested for a few moments knowing that Inuyasha and Kira would wake up in a few minutes.

    "I think we won't be sleeping this morning.", Sayuri said giggling.

    Miroku laughed reaching for his clothes and Sayuri's. They got dressed and walked out the hut to find Inuyasha and Shippou already helping the villegers. Miroku kissed Sayuri on the lips and walked to Inuyasha and offered his help. Sayuri walked to Kira and Inuayasha's hut and stepped inside to help Kira with breakfast.

    When breakfast was ready they called their man to eat. They had a nice breakfast chatting and planning their ourney to Fukouka when Inuaysha became suddenly very still and his face became pale.

   "Inuyashi? What's the matter?", Kira asked with concern.

   "I-I need to go somewhere", he said quickly and ran out the hut.

   Sayuri, Miroku, Kira and Shippou got up and ran behind him wondering what might have upset himso much to run off like that. They run through the forest until the came to a sudden halt when they arrived to a well. Inuaysha was looking down attonished by something within the well.

   "Watashi no ai, What is Inuyasha looking at?", Sayuri asked Miroku seeing his expression of confution.

   "I cannot belive this...", Miroku said in a whisper.

   Kira and Sayuri exchanged looks clearly confused by the whole situation. They focused their attention to Inuyasha and saw that he streched his arm down the well and pulled. From within a well came a woman in very extrange clothes. She had dark hair and pale skin.

   "Kagome!", Shippou shouted in exitement while runnig toward the woman.

   "Miroku, who is that?", Kira asked in a cold, frighten voice.

   "That is Kagome, Lady Kikyou's reincarnation. She comes from the future, just like you.", Miroku said still surprised.

   Sayuri pulled Kira's hand and started to walk over Inuyasha and the strange looking woman. When they reached Inuyasha's side Kira stood there not knowing what to say.

   "I'm Sayuri, daughter of Chiyo leader of the Tora clan, Who are you?", Sayuri said in a cold voice not hiding her annoyance.

   The woman smiled and said, "I'm Kagome Higurashi. Nice to meet you.", She extended a hand to Sayuri but she rejected it. "And you are?", Kagome asked looking at Kira.

   "I'm Kira Yoshizumi.", She answered trying in vain to sound confident.

   Miroku walked to them and greeted Kagome. He then took Sayuri's hand in his and stood by her side. Kagome looked around trying to find Sango. When she didn't saw her around she asked, "Miroku, where is Sango? I thought you would be with her by now."

   Miroku felt Sayuri's hand stiff and glanced at her and smiled. "I no longer live with her, my heart belongs to Sayuri. Sango left months ago with Kohaku and our children."

   Kagome's eyes widen and frowned. "What! Why did you left her?! She loves you! How could you do that to her!", she said scolding him.

   "I-I", Miroku didn't know what to say to Kagome's accusations.

   "You better go find her, Miroku.", Kagome insisted.

   Sayuri closed her fists trying to control the anger that woman make her feel. She wouldn't allow that woman talk to the love of her life in that way.

   "Miroku, are you listening to me?", Kagome asked impatiently.

   Sayuri could not hold her anger anymore and did what her instincts told her to do. Sayuri in a quick move slapped Kagome cutting off her words. Kagome placed her hand on her red cheeck and looked at Sayuri.

   Inuyasha tried to intervene but, Kira took his hand making him stop. He glanced at her and smiled remembering the love he felt for Kira. "Inuyashi, don't intervine please. Let Sayuri and Miroku handle this.", Kira whispered to him. He nodded.

   Kagome noticed Kira and Inuyasha holding hand and her eyes widen in shock.
